- Recharger (Pty) Ltd, a South African company that helps people and businesses manage and pay for electricity in advance through prepaid metering systems, is being acquired by Lesaka Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LSAK; JSE: LSK) for approximately $28 million. The purchase will be paid in two tranches, combining $18 million in cash and $10 million in Lesaka common stock. Lesaka will also contribute an additional $2 million at closing to repay a loan owed by Recharger. The acquisition is valued at an EBITDA multiple of approximately six times.
